Our 3mm Foamex boards are printed directly onto lightweight rigid PVC foam board, creating a smooth and professional sign panel for indoor displays, retail graphics, exhibition boards, menu boards, information signs and short-term promotional signage.

3mm Foamex is one of the most versatile board-printing materials. It is more rigid than 1mm or 2mm Foamex, but still lightweight and easy to handle. This makes it a strong all-round option for businesses, retailers, offices, events, schools, hospitality venues, exhibitions and promotional displays.

Each board is digitally printed in full colour and trimmed to size as standard. Single-sided and double-sided print options are available depending on how the board will be displayed. Foamex can be fixed using adhesive, strong double-sided tape, screws, nails or rivets on a suitable surface.

When to choose 3mm Foamex Board Printing

Choose 3mm Foamex if you need a lightweight but reasonably rigid sign board for general-purpose display use. It is a good option for wall-mounted signs, retail displays, exhibition panels, information boards and temporary promotional signage.

For very lightweight inserts or hanging panels, 1mm or 2mm Foamex may be more suitable. For larger signs, more premium displays or panels that need extra rigidity, 5mm or 10mm Foamex may be a better choice.

Indoor and outdoor use

3mm Foamex is ideal for indoor signage and display applications. It can also be used outdoors for suitable short-term signage, provided it is installed correctly and not exposed to excessive heat, direct sunlight, strong wind or pressure.

Foamex and other foam-based boards can expand in heated conditions. If the board is fitted too tightly inside a frame or fixed without room for expansion, it may warp. Standard product tolerance may be up to 5mm per linear metre.

If your sign will be used outdoors for a long period, or in an exposed location, ask our team whether 5mm Foamex, Correx or Dibond / ACM would be more suitable.

Board size and delivery

The page currently states a maximum board size of 2.4m × 1.2m in one piece, with 3.05m × 1.56m available. It also states that, due to transportation restrictions, the maximum length normally sent in one piece is 1.5m.

This should be clarified on the live page so customers understand the difference between what can be printed and what can be shipped in one piece. Larger panels may need to be tiled or quoted separately depending on size and delivery location.

Artwork for 3mm Foamex board printing

For best results, supply your artwork as a print-ready PDF at the correct finished size. We can also accept AI, EPS, JPG and PNG files. Artwork should be high resolution, set up in CMYK colour where possible, and include any bleed required for trimming.
