Our 2mm Foamex boards are printed directly onto lightweight PVC foam board, creating a thin, smooth and practical sign panel for indoor displays, retail graphics, hanging signs and short-term promotional signage.

2mm Foamex is thicker and more substantial than 1mm Foamex, but lighter and more flexible than 3mm or 5mm boards. It is a good choice when you need a printed display board that is easier to mount, hang, handle or place into suitable display systems, while still giving a more rigid finish than standard poster paper.

Each board is digitally printed in full colour and trimmed to size as standard. The material is M1/B1 fire-rated, lightweight and suitable for many indoor display applications. It can also be used for suitable short-term outdoor signage where the board is installed correctly and not exposed to excessive heat, strong wind or severe weather.

When to choose 2mm Foamex Board Printing

Choose 2mm Foamex if you want a lightweight printed board that is more durable and rigid than poster paper, but thinner and easier to handle than 3mm or 5mm Foamex.

It is a useful option for signs and displays that may need to be mounted, hung, placed in suitable frames, fitted into display systems or used for short-term promotional campaigns.

For freestanding signs, larger wall signs, shop signs or outdoor signage that needs more rigidity, 3mm, 5mm or 10mm Foamex may be more suitable.

Indoor and outdoor use

2mm Foamex is best suited to indoor signage and lightweight display applications. It can be used outdoors for suitable short-term signage, but care is needed in areas exposed to heat, direct sunlight, strong wind or pressure.

Foamex and other foam-based boards can expand in heated conditions. If the board is fitted too tightly inside a frame or fixed without room for expansion, it may warp. Standard product tolerance may be up to 5mm per linear metre. If your sign will be used outdoors for a long period, or in an exposed location, ask our team whether thicker Foamex, Correx or Dibond / ACM would be a better option.

Board size and delivery

The page currently states a maximum board size of 2.4m × 1.2m in one piece, with 3.05m × 1.56m available. It also states that, due to transportation issues, the maximum length sent in one piece is 1.5m. This should be clarified on the live page so customers understand the difference between what can be printed and what can be shipped in one piece.

Artwork for 2mm Foamex board printing

For best results, supply your artwork as a print-ready PDF at the correct finished size. We can also accept AI, EPS, JPG and PNG files. Artwork should be high resolution, set up in CMYK colour where possible, and include any bleed required for trimming.
