Celebrating 21 Years of Dedication: Wendy Lough’s Journey with Fantasy Prints

At Fantasy Prints, we take pride in the dedication and passion of our team. This year, we are thrilled to celebrate Wendy Lough’s incredible 20-year journey with us. From her beginnings as a customer to becoming a cornerstone of our company, Wendy’s story is one of commitment, growth, and making a difference in the lives of our customers.

A Chance Opportunity That Led to a Career

Wendy’s journey with Fantasy Prints began in an unexpected way—on the other side of the counter. As a customer involved with voluntary organisations, she frequently visited the shop for printing needs. When Fantasy Prints expanded to its first factory unit in 2004, Wendy was ready for a career change. A conversation in the shop led to an opportunity for a receptionist position, which she eagerly accepted after a holiday in Canada. By the end of August 2004, she officially joined the team.

From Receptionist to Essential Team Member

Starting as a receptionist, Wendy’s role involved greeting customers, processing orders, handling mail, and managing the small number of parcels sent out at the time. Within just three months, she transitioned to full-time work, and the company introduced a courier collection service, a small glimpse of the many changes to come.

Over the years, Wendy has witnessed and adapted to the company’s rapid growth. What was once a single industrial unit has expanded into three large spaces, filled with advanced machinery, a dedicated team, and a thriving energy that fuels Fantasy Prints’ success.

Passion for People and Creativity

When asked what has kept her motivated for two decades, Wendy attributes it to the variety of people and projects she encounters daily. “Every customer is unique, and each job is different,” she explains.

She has built strong relationships with regular customers, understanding their needs and celebrating their milestones through custom printing. From funeral stationery to wedding invitations and baby shower keepsakes, Wendy finds immense joy in helping people create meaningful, personalized items for life’s most significant moments.

The Little Moments That Matter

Rather than pointing to one defining moment, Wendy highlights the countless small victories that make her job fulfilling. Seeing a customer’s vision materialise into a tangible product never gets old. It’s those moments of excitement, satisfaction, and surprise that make her role truly special.

Words of Wisdom for Future Team Members

Reflecting on her journey, Wendy offers valuable advice to anyone starting their career at Fantasy Prints: “Work hard, have pride in what you do. Be kind and open-minded, and treat every job as if it’s the only one you have.”

For those who might be hesitant about taking a leap into a new career path, Wendy reassures them: “Don’t be scared—you are making the right move. It was a complete change of direction for me, and I have never regretted a moment.”

A Lesson in Patience and Growth

One of the biggest lessons Wendy has learned over the years is patience. Not everyone is familiar with the printing process, but she has discovered that taking the time to explain things can help customers achieve more than they ever imagined.

A Personal Note from Sarah, Managing Director of Fantasy Prints

“Wendy and I haven’t just worked side by side for the past 21 years—we’ve grown a true friendship that goes far beyond the walls of Fantasy Prints. From day one, we’ve understood each other that only deepens with time. We’ve shared plenty of laughs, adventures on the road visiting customers across the country.

There have been moments when we’ve both leaned on each other—through tough days, big changes, and new milestones—and I honestly can’t imagine the journey without her. Wendy’s loyalty, integrity, and genuine care for people shine through in everything she does, and she brings such warmth to the team.

Wendy, thank you for always being there—not just as a colleague, but as a true friend. It’s been an absolute privilege to work with you for the past 21 years, and I’m so proud of everything you’ve achieved. Here’s to the memories we’ve made and to all the ones still to come!” – Sarah McMorn, Owner
