FP Uniformz, the workwear segment of the Berwick-Upon-Tweed print company, Fantasy Prints, is moving into its own dedicated premises after recent investment in new equipment.

Following the success of FP Uniformz since its launch in 2014, the supplier of branded workwear is now embarking on expanding its business.

This has lead to an investment in brand new screen printing equipment, which allows the company to offer something new to its customers.

The machine the company opted for was the GOCCOPRO 100 Digital Screen print system with a four colour carousel and tunnel dryer. This provides FP Uniformz with an environmentally friendly screen printing system. It doesn’t use the traditional chemical based emulsion screens and cuts out the need to expose both film and screens. The system produces fantastic detail that can be kept within a screen, giving great texture and tonal value to images that previously, would have been difficult to print with a traditional system.

Photographs and artwork can now be printed quickly and with a level of detail not usually seen with traditional screen printing. With this system in place FP Uniformz can now offer better images that will really change its customers ideas of what can be done.

As well as this the company is also expanding the embroidery side of the business and has invested in a new eight headed, 15 colour embroidery machine to help meet the growing demand of workwear being embroidered with company logos.

FP Uniformz also has the state-of-the-art Mimaki CVJ30-100 with white ink. This machine prints CMYK solvent straight on to vinyl that has been heat pressed onto any garment. The machine is also a cutter, which allows cutting to any shape to suit the logo. This type of printing is a very clean process, with no need to mix inks or make screens. It is very economic for short runs and allows for a fast turnaround. This method is also better for the environment than alternate techniques.

The new equipment will be put to use immediately as the company settles into its new 2,500sq ft premises opposite Fantasy Prints. FP Uniformz, together with Fantasy Prints now have three business units in the Ramparts Business Park, totalling over 10,000sq ft and one retail shop in Berwick-Upon-Tweed town centre.

Sarah McMorn, managing director of Fantasy Prints and FP Uniformz said: “Due to the further investment in equipment at FP Uniformz, we felt it was the right time to move the business into its own premises. This is an exciting time for FP Uniformz and we look forward to expanding our product range to include screen printed items.”
